For 2009, the OUAC expects the majority of secondary school applicants to
apply to Ontario universities online. In order to reduce the
chances for delays and the frustration of slower online response times, we ask
that you encourage your university-bound students to complete and submit their
online application as soon as possible and at least several days before the
January 14, 2009 deadline.

Once again, a reminder that applicants are unable to change their application
information once they have clicked the “I Verify and Agree” button and have
paid for ALL of their program choices within the “Apply Online” system.
Once payment has been received, applicants can view/amend their application
information using the “Review and Change Your Completed Application” system.

Some students elect to pay their application fees by cheque or money order.
Until this fee has been received at the OUAC, these applicants are not able to
view and make changes to their individual applications. At this busy time of
year, it may take OUAC staff approximately 3 to 4 weeks to process
cheques and money orders. You may wish to convey this information to your
students and suggest that they pay fees by credit card when submitting their
applications.

The OUAC is officially closed for the holidays from December 23, 2008 at 3 p.m.
to January 1, 2009, inclusive. The OUAC website will remain available during
this time.

Ensure that your students have their access information to apply online during
the Christmas holidays. The OUAC cannot provide access information by telephone
or via email.

Applicant Services Extended Hours prior to Application Deadline:

Monday, January 12 – Wednesday January 14 – 9:00 am – 9:00 pm (EST)
Applicant Services Phone: (519) 823-1940, ext 556.

Please share this notice with your guidance office staff and any others who may
be interested.

Regards,
The OUAC Secondary School Division
